Aldo Tura // the last designer-craftman

On of my favorite italian designers is Aldo Tura, he was an artist-craftsman who in 1930s started to manufacture and design furniture. I adore his pieces for the innovative forms, materials and for the accuracy in producing each piece in a limited series. What I like the most of Tura’s furnitures, accessories, etc. is the highest technique to realize them and the strong colors used as red, green , yellow. His distinctive and unmistakable signs are the use of leather such as goatskin and the bronze details. Below a selection of my favorite pieces. Please if you have more information regarding Aldo Tura do not hesitate to write us.

An elegant indigo-blue lacquered goatskin console by Aldo Tura, Italy, circa 1968. The goatskin has natural variation in color giving the surface subtlety and depth. The top and doors are lacquered goatskin, and the back and sides are black lacquered ash wood. The left hand and center doors open to reveal drawers.
