Amarcord // Cartophily

Here is a small series of Cigarette Cards that I found few days ago in a Bangkokian shop. I was attracted by the colors and size, after I while I have discovered that the series was one of the first ever done. As Wikipedia and other specialized website regarding Cartophily, Cigarette Card Collecting, say [...] In the UK, W.D. & H.O. Wills in 1887 were one of the first companies to include advertising cards with their cigarettes [...]. At that time, cards ‘stiffeners’ were inserted into cigarettes packaging to reinforce the structure and so to protect the contents … someone come up with the idea to print there advertising.
